Interior Ministry mourns policeman killed in Gharbiya attack

The Interior Ministry's media office mourned a policeman who was killed in an attack on a police checkpoint in Gharbiya.

The spokesperson said Galal Suleiman al-Riasty was killed when his force was on its way back from a security raid targeting outlaws. He was shot by unknown assailants in a drive-by shooting.

Another policeman was also injured in the attack.

Police and army forces have been increasingly targeted with bloody attacks since the ouster of former president Mohamed Morsy.
